Barnhart is guiding his team through a time of immense change in media sales, expanding the scope of the business beyond linear television to include more streaming inventory on programmatic platforms and beyond. He’s also been testing different ways to invigorate and incentivize team members of all ages. “It requires creativity to inspire and engage Gen Z toward sales achievements, moving beyond simple monetary rewards,” he says. “If anyone has insights on effective strategies, I’d love to hear them.” At the same time, he’s further devoted himself to improving Charter’s business resource groups. He’s a co-chair for Spectrum’s LGBTQ BRG, and he worked together with other co-chairs over the past year to reorganize the BRG committees to redefine their missions.
