The Why? Being an immigrant himself, Kanda appreciates the opportunities this country has provided for his successes and tries to pay it forward. He sometimes jokes that his team is a “mini UN council,” representing six countries, and multiracial and multi-ethnic men and women. Over the past year, Kanda’s team has been on the frontline in an effort to protect Mediacom from ongoing cyber threats that have increased in scope and complexity after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Kanda has always encouraged women in cybersecurity and strives for gender diversity during the hiring process.
