Nicole Balgemino-Kim

Balgemino-Kim has been with The Walt Disney Company for nearly 10 years, joining the ABC and General Entertainment publicity team in 2020. She led the publicity campaign for the limited series “Women of the Movement,” which told the story of the brutal murder of Emmett Till and the strength of his mother, Mamie, who galvanized the Civil Rights Movement as we know it today. Elements included a multi-city screening series and early presentations to key organizations, such as Color of Change, NAACP, the National Civil Rights Museum as well as surviving Till-Mobley family and friends. Balgemino-Kim was bit by the PR bug while volunteering for a press junket. “I always knew that I wanted to be in a role in which my personal perspective would be valued and integrated into my daily function,” she says. “I quickly understood that publicists and communications executives were equal parts strategists, creatives, leaders, decision-makers, and sounding boards, and decided to choose this path so that I could use my voice to drive the future of our business.” She also helps grow the next crop of leaders as a formal mentor to junior and mid-level Disney execs.
