Closing the digital divide is important to McLaughlin, who reigns over DC, Maryland and Virginia as well as part of Delaware, North Carolina and West Virginia. Under her leadership, Comcast has partnered with local municipalities to apply for grants to bring broadband and other services to residents and businesses in unserved areas like Bedford County, Va., and Clarke County, Va. She’s also done her part to drive adoption of Comcast’s low-income internet product throughout the region. McLaughlin is a well-respected mentor and serves on the global board of directors for WICT. She encourages her team to give back, with the Beltway Region having more than 8,600 volunteers participate in nearly 100 Comcast Cares Day projects in 2019.
