It’s been a big year for Santana and his team at Telemundo Global Studios, with the second season premiere of “La Reina del Sur” helping make Telemundo an even bigger star in the Spanish language television landscape. Looking ahead, Santana struck a content deal with Mexican superstar Fernando Colunga, and thousands of hours of Spanish-language programming are available on Peacock. Santana is passionate about getting diverse voices into the mix, overseeing the introduction of the inaugural class of its Global Studios Fellowship program, working to bring in the next generation of Spanish-language scripted producers. “Being part of Telemundo Global Studios and Comcast NBCUniversal has put me in a position where we can educate others to understand what is happening and can work hard so that one day, we can overcome these social injustices,” he says.
The conversation about racial injustice in 2020 has been… a strong reminder that we are still, even today, living in times of inequality and racial discrimination and abuse against minorities.
