Carr is a legend at BET Networks, and for good reason. During his 33 years at the company, he’s generated more than $8 billion in revenue. His team has had 21 straight years of advertising revenue growth, and is responsible for 60% of the company’s total revenue. Carr’s strategy is to grow while at the same time drawing more revenue from existing advertisers—and it’s definitely working. To boot, for more than 14 years, the Louis Carr Internship Foundation has been working to improve diversity in corporate America by placing undergraduate students of color in paid summer internships.
