Laura Vigilante

Since Vigilante took over as awards manager for CNN Worldwide in 2018, she’s smashed network records year after year. In the two years since she began, CNN saw a 200% increase in total Emmy wins and a 43% increase in nominations across primetime, daytime and the news & documentary Emmy competitions. Webby nominations for CNN Digital jumped by a stunning 667% under her leadership. When the pandemic hit, the Emmy deadline was quickly approaching and Vigilante somehow managed to get all the awards submitted, and set a network record with 33 news and documentary nominations, the most in the company’s 40-year history. “In this role, I’ve set a new standard, breaking all previous record-setting years and elevating the prestige and excellence of the CNN brand,” she says. “With 16 total Emmys won in 2020, CNN set a new network-record and won the most news and Spanish-language categories of any outlet this year.”
