In the past year, Holmes and his team launched a new sales tool and exceeded goals in terms of revenue and customers. He’s currently concentrating on integrating new tools and tech into the sales team and using all sales channels to drive Cox’s new streaming product. An informal mentor to at least a dozen people and a formal mentor to two, Holmes uses his own experiences to help lift others through mentorship. He says, “Our National Diversity Council, of which I am a member, does great work making sure we look at the company through a diversity lens and then strive for change where change is necessary.”
What does your company/organization do to ensure all employees feel included?
We have embraced our ERGs, which help shine a light on the importance of diversity as well as make sure that every employee has a mentor who is different from themselves.
How can diversity be better incorporated into the recruiting process?
Companies must mandate that each job requisition contain diverse candidates.
