A February 2018 UCLA study revealed that of the 45 new scripted shows approved for 2017-18 across broadcast, cable and digital platforms, only four were from creators of color, all of whom were black. What is your reaction to this report?
My reaction to this report is not unlike my reaction to similar reports involving people of color in our industry; I’m very disappointed but not surprised. These reports generally serve as validation to what people of color already know; there is tremendous work yet to be done.
What’s been the most dramatic change in your sector of the business today vs. three years ago? There is significantly more competition in the video space putting tremendous pricing pressure on the market
