Dealing with litigation, employment and content protection issues throughout 21st Century Fox—from regional channels to the broadcast network to the company’s many sports and entertainment cable channels across multiple platforms—is serious business, and Ratner does it all. As a woman in a leadership role, Ratner believes there’s still plenty of room for female leaders in the media business. “[There are] more women in senior positions but there’s still a long way to go,” she says.
Who is an inspirational woman you admire, and why?
I admire and am greatly inspired by Billie Jean King. She was instrumental in the passage of Title IX and founded the Women’s Sports Foundation in 1974. She is a trailblazer for equal rights and a woman of true integrity.
What’s a recent example of a step forward for women in the media industry?
