Promoted earlier this year, Doctor absorbed oversight of RAN design and deployment along with the other wireless responsibilities at Charter. She is active with multiple groups, including the Spectrum Women Business Resource Group and The WICT Network, and plays a role in promoting the celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month within Charter’s network operations team. More is in store for Doctor as she was selected to participate in Charter’s new internal Accelerated Development Executive Program (ADEPT) that looks to expedite the development of female and diverse leaders in the product and technology space.
What movie or show is must-watch for celebrating diversity? “Hidden Figures”—it helps underscore that equal opportunity should be given to everyone regardless of gender, background or race. It shows that it is important to value competency, capabilities and strong work ethic over external appearances. The movie depicted the value of diversity in the workplace and how inclusion can lead to progress.
What’s your boldest prediction about your industry in the next 10 years? Wireless and wireline will continue to converge. The ones that have the most expansive infrastructure and leverage it for the benefit of the consumers will win.
Has the internet created more inclusion or exclusion? The internet has created more inclusion. It provided a platform for people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives to have a voice that reaches a bigger audience. The internet provides access to a wide range of diverse perspectives, which can help people expand their horizons and understand different points of view.
