Heather McCallion, Atlanticbroadband

Years in Industry: 22

Education: Roanoke College

McCallion is a driving force behind the company’s advancement in its core network. This past March, Atlantic Broadband announced availability of 10 gigabit fiber service for its business internet service in Western Pennsylvania, Rochester, New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Additional deployments are planned for other markets, including Florida, Maryland and Connecticut. With experience on the programming and distribution side, McCallion is always looking for ways to make the customer experience better. That work has included partnering with TiVo so that Prime Video customers can stream content to select TiVo devices.

The COVID-19 Pandemic forever changed my perspective on:
The need to digitize many processes and customer touchpoints, increased need for customer self-help including self-installation and account management, and the ongoing importance of customer and colleague communication and education.

Number of subscriptions to streaming services:
7 including some services embedded in subscriptions to linear channels (HBO, Peacock)

Without sports on TV, I have…
Thought a lot more about the cost of sports content!

The future of broadband is…
Everything. Good, reliable broadband and WiFi connection is more critical than ever, with increased digitzation and “work and watch from anywhere” culture.

“Tiger King” is a thing because…
Carole did it.

The first thing I’ll do when I’m back in the office is…
Have a “distance” coffee with Leslie (her stash, my mug). I’ve missed my colleagues terribly!

If I launched my own personal streaming service, it would be called…
Roots (hair), Kids & Cable…doing it all from home.

What product could you not live without?
WiFi

Worst job you ever had?
I’ve only been fired from one job. I cannot wait tables. It is a fact.
