Dedicated to elevating diverse and underrepresented voices and telling stories about significant people and moments in sports history, Lockhart champions noteworthy projects like “Full Court Press,” which highlights the stories of female athletes such as Caitlin Clark and Kiki Rice, and “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” which celebrated the tennis icon’s record-setting career on and off the court. This year Lockhart is celebrating the 15th anniversary of ESPN’s lauded docuseries “30 for 30.”

What nonprofit are you proud to champion? Justice Aid. I have been on the board for five years and in that time, the organization has raised more than $1M for social justice causes that include Justice for Vets, the Youth Empowerment Project and Black Voters Matter.

What’s your boldest prediction about your industry in the next 10 years? While the last ten years have brought about the fragmentation of audiences and viewing options, the next decade will bring back a confluence of seamless experience, innovative productions, and inspired people.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about diversity within your industry? Diversity is not solely focused on underrepresented points of view. It’s intentional about making sure every voice has space to contribute, and being vigilant in pushing back against any singular perspective, whether intentionally or unconsciously, dominating the conversation.

What does work-life balance mean to you? I have yet to experience it – at least not in the traditional sense. I am asymmetrical by nature – my work, which I love, fills every free moment not occupied by family, friends, and leisure time. Work-life integration is my reality; one constantly influences the other. Once I was able to accept that, I’ve been able to settle into a flow that works best for me and those close to me.
