When Davis launched a new internal employee brand for Comcast Cable’s West Division earlier this year, it underscored his commitment to continuously making the division better for customers, shareholders and one another. The creation of a Center of Excellence for employee communications allows 21,000 employees in 11 states to engage more fully. “As we look to serve a broader, more diverse customer base, we will be forced to better understand the impact of culture on how we operate and run our business,” he says.
What is the best business advice you’ve received?
It’s most important to do what’s right versus doing what is popular. You will lose less sleep at night when you do what’s right.

Developing an “environment” that embraces and thrives on diverse ideas, thoughts, opinions, perspectives, and approaches
How can cable better support diversity?
As we look to serve a broader, more diverse customer base, we will be forced to better understand the impact of culture on how we operate and run our business. This will be a significant catalyst for change. We will in turn re-think our business and operating models. As a result our industry and our workplace will improve!
