Schlichting is responsible for the acquisition and renewal of all programming content for DISH. Since taking the positioning of programming head in 2014, he has played an integral role in securing content rights for DISH and Sling TV customers across multiple devices. In the past year, his team secured deals with major programmers, including Univision, HBO and EPIX, that enhanced the Sling TV product and helped drive it to the top 10 list of SVOD subscription services by number of subs, according to Parks Associates.

What does the multiscreen experience look like in three years?

Smartphones will continue to grow in dominance as we look forward in multiscreen, and we’ll begin to see these handheld devices control the video experience on more and larger screens.

To what degree will measurement factor into multiscreen monetization in 2016?

We must create a new measurement concept that encompasses the entire video experience across screens and devices. Our current C3-C7 concept has crippled multiscreen measurement. Efficient monetization requires the development of a system compatible with the entire video ecosystem.

Sling TV to watch the game wherever, whenever; LastPass, which holds my 30+ passwords and keeps me sane; and Snapchat to stay in touch
