Garcia focuses on driving direct sales strategy and transformation efforts for the Northeast Division’s small and medium-sized business (SMB) clients in 14 northeastern states—a footprint of nearly 500,000 SMB clients and approximately 8 million residential customers. In shifting gears from her role as VP of product sales on the residential side, Garcia quickly grew personnel by more than 56% across inbound, outbound and retention sales. She looks for job candidates with “confidence, commitment and a strong work ethic. I look for people who have a positive attitude.”

What’s been your company’s biggest innovation this year?

Comcast’s biggest innovation in 2014 was the X1 Entertainment Operating System and its complete rollout to our full footprint, plus the many new features and enhancements we introduced for X1 like the X1 DVR with cloud technology that allows customers to download recorded content to take on-the-go and watch live streams in the home

What qualities do you look for when making a new hire?

Some of the qualities that I look for when making a hiring decision are confidence, commitment and a strong work ethic. I look for people who have a positive attitude, are able to inspire others to succeed and can effectively delegate in an effort to develop others.

Name one emerging trend in cable we should all have our eye on.

The way we deliver content and the amount of content at the fingertips of our subscribers is evolving, including the ability to watch TV everywhere on any television, computer or mobile device. Ultimately, the storage capacity with the Cloud is revolutionary.
