Susan Swain
Swain has accomplished much in the past year, having overseen the implementation of new digital strategies, including a redesign of C-SPAN.org and the launch of C-SPAN TV Everywhere. She also led a companywide competitiveness and innovation project and hosted and executive-produced season two of the series “First Ladies”—all the while, leading the network. And when she’s not in the office, she’s still all about C-SPAN. She can be found logging 10K steps with her FitBit while listening to the network on her iPhone app. “Go ahead, say it, I’m a nerd!” she exclaims.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
Two clear winners: Comcast-Time Warner merger and net neutrality. Our network is covering Washington as it gets to the decision phase on both. The next several months will be very interesting, indeed.
How do you define a successful career?
Working with great people doing a job you love for a company that makes a contribution to the greater whole. I’ve hit a trifecta.
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
Logging 10k steps with my FitBit while listening to C-SPAN on my iPhone app. Go ahead, say it, I’m a nerd!
