“You can never get complacent. Things are constantly shifting and that’s fun.” So says Barnett, who’s as enthusiastic as ever after more than 20 years in cable. An expert at identifying trends at early stages, Barnett has grown numerous new revenue streams for Sundance. Repositioning the network for an underserved segment of viewers and creating programming with substance are her primary goals. Currently, she’s launching miniseries “Top of the Lake,” and five additional unscripted series, as well as developing Sundance’s first wholly owned scripted drama series “Rectify.”
