Girado’s role at NAMIC entails leading the production and management of the association’s high-profile events. It featured an impressive lineup of speakers including Reggie Love, former special assistant to President Barack Obama, and Elizabeth Vargas, award-winning journalist and co-anchor of ABC News’ “20/20.” “In the past, diversity was aligned with corporate social responsibility initiatives and considered the right thing to do,” she says. “Today, a greater emphasis is placed on establishing the diversity business case, while attaining ‘buy in’ at the top echelons of the industry.”
