Girado’s role at NAMIC entails leading the production and management of the association’s high-profile events. She was at the forefront of last year’s milestone event, the 30th Annual NAMIC Conference in NYC. It featured an impressive lineup of speakers including Reggie Love, former special assistant to President Barack Obama, and Elizabeth Vargas, award-winning journalist and co-anchor of ABC News’ “20/20.” “In the past, diversity was aligned with corporate social responsibility initiatives and considered the right thing to do,” she says. “Today, a greater emphasis is placed on establishing the diversity business case, while attaining ‘buy in’ at the top echelons of the industry.”
