Seattle-based Kinsman Design, which consults the cable industry on system architectures, offers nearly four decades of expertise to the business. Kinsman believes technology is always the biggest area of growth for women in cable.  “We now have new tools to reach this segment, such as focusing on girls and young women through STEM programs,” she says.

I always believe that Technology is the biggest area of growth for women in cable.  We now have new tools to reach this segment, such as focusing on girls and young women thorough STEM programs.

 

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

I had the fortunate opportunity to mentor a terrific young lady through the WICT/SCTE TechConnect Program.  Our success centered by making a connection on a deeper level of respect and sharing the experience, than just giving her input and lists.
