Rita Magliocco

Programming & Production Coordinator, Back9Network

As the only female on the creative team at Back9Network for the majority of her 1-year tenure at the company, Magliocco is instrumental to its programming development and production. Her father is her greatest mentor. “He’s my biggest fan and biggest critic, but that’s what keeps his advice coming from a place of true authenticity,” she says.

What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?

As a young professional in the media industry, I have a unique opportunity to experience the growth that is to come with the imminent evolution of the cable industry between distribution, OTT, and net neutrality. It’s going to forever change media consumption, and I’m excited to be along for the ride.

What would be your ultimate dream job?

I think great programming executives are naturally creative, but are also really great problem solvers. As someone who loves both curating and analyzing content, being in a position to oversee the design of content distribution for broadcast and digital media platforms would be a dream.

Who has been your biggest mentor and why?

My dad has been the biggest mentor in my life because without his love, support, and encouragement I would not be where I am today. There’s no one that pushes me both professionally and personally like he does. He’s my biggest fan and biggest critic, but that’s what keeps his advice coming from a place of true authenticity. Thanks Dad!

What three things can’t you live without?

1. My family, friends, and dogs Bourbon and Bailey

2.  Italian Food

3. Back9Network
