A former commissioner at both the FCC and also the California Public Utilities Commission, Chong was the first Asian-American PUC Commissioner in California. She’s been a strong advocate of competition in all communications markets. She believes America’s great melting pot tradition rings more true today than ever. As a result, she says, cable “must serve its new audience with more diverse programming, should ensure diversity in its supplier procurement practices of the company, and should ensure its senior executives include persons of color.”
