Pillai’s impact on Cablevision in 2014 was significant, as he managed the deployment of increased speed for the Optimum Online service. Under his management, Cablevision also continued to enhance its VOD, MR-DVR and voice infrastructure. He says it’s all about teamwork. “We have brought all of Cablevision’s core infrastructure teams together in one team via the establishment of our infrastructure engineering group,” he says. And that puts everything under one umbrella, supporting a more seamless and efficient approach.

How do you define diversity?
Diversity can be about multicultural, but it shouldn’t end there. It must also be about people from different backgrounds and experiences. When we look at new hires and growth of talent and teams, we challenge ourselves to look beyond ‘business as usual’ to identify those prospective team members that bring unique skills, talents and insight that will truly diversify our teams, on every level.

Success is defined by our customers and how they view our performance. It is not just what we do internally but how our customers view their overall experience that truly matters.
