It’s been our policy that when an executive has announced he’s leaving cable we don’t include that person in our lists. We break that tradition here by inserting Younge, in tribute to a job very well done. Possessor of a great sense of humor, Pat totally changed Travel Channel during his tenure, which ends Jan 1 when he returns to the U.K. as Chief Creative Officer for BBC Vision Productions. The new gig is a coup for Younge, but well deserved. Not only did he revise Travel’s slate, he grew it into a Top 15 cable net in prime, added HD and lowered its median age.
