How do you replace a hugely popular cable industry leader, who’s also an all-American athlete with multiple Olympics medals? If you’re Parthavi Das, you acknowledge that you’re not Benita Fitzgerald Mosley – you have different strengths and weaknesses than she, this is one of the lessons of diversity – and you move ahead. Das confidently assumed the top job in July and continued the excellence she’s been achieving at WICT since 1996. Among other duties, she carefully navigated the delicate environment that has cable condensing a year of events into just two weeks. Fortunately for WICT, Das has strong leadership skills, having headed WICT’s PAR Initiative and its recognition awards. The movie buff (who loves Bollywood films) is scheduled to give way to new WICT chief Maria Brennan on Oct. 19.
