Now head of her own company, Adelson recently exited as president of ITV Studios America. There she increased the company’s sales to cable and broadcast networks significantly, counting shows like NBC’s “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris,” Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and A&E’s “The First 48” as a few of her successes. Mentoring, she says, is about “leading by example, and helping to nurture the notion that they can attain their dreams.”

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

Sherry Lansing inspires me, as she is a pioneer amongst women, leading a studio with intelligence and grace. Outside of the office, I have always been awed by my mother, whose positive attitude, fearlessness, and perseverance created a rich and fulfilling life.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

There is no trick for maintaining a work and personal life balance—you just have to do it.
