As part of National Geographic Society’s Big Cats Initiative (BCI) to help halt the decline of big cats, the network’s campaign created a powerful rallying cry that has raised awareness and educated people on the issue. It also inspired people to raise funds. Donations for Build A Boma have reached 42% of goal within several months of launching, and proceeds from the sale of the USA Today special edition totaled approximately $12K, to name just a few. The initiative also helped build a community and develop a bond for continued support.
