With NBCU for more than three years now, Jo constantly pushes herself and her team to enhance their knowledge and skillsets within the industry. She’s an active mentor and is involved in both the NBCU Cable Entertainment and Comcast MBA Rotational Leadership programs. Jo is an avid swimmer and reader. “Both in their own way enable my mind to wander and suspend disbelief… I unfortunately have not mastered doing both simultaneously,” she says.

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

Honesty and opportunity – as a mentor I believe in giving honest feedback that addresses both the positive and the areas of improvement, combined with presenting opportunities to further develop.  As one being mentored, I welcome honest feedback and continually challenge myself to ensure I am receiving the feedback with an open mind so that I can apply the learnings.

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

Outside of the office, I am inspired by entrepreneurs and their drive, passion and commitment to see their vision from concept to reality, to persistently overcome roadblocks and remain upbeat.

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Swimming and reading fiction.  Both in their own way enable my mind to wander and suspend disbelief… I unfortunately have not mastered doing both simultaneously.
