It’s been a milestone year for Daniels. She began by taking her Discovery Channel EVP, production & development, role to new heights, guiding the net to its highest viewership in 12 years on the wings of landmark event programming like “Skywire With Nik Wallenda.” And she ended with a new title: GM of TLC, where she’s overseeing new seasons of hits “Little Couple” and “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” and evaluating new growth opportunities. Etkind was promoted to GM at DA last June and is seasoning the programming pot with cross-platform extensions of series including “BBQ Pitmasters” and “United States of Bacon.” Velocity’s gunning at full speed, where Scanlon’s expertise in building networks is paying off with huge ratings jumps. Look for him to continue driving new content areas that appeal to audiences beyond hardcore automotive fans, especially the U.S. Hispanic market.
