Melissa Klein
Senior Manager, Digital Programming & Product, Epix
Klein not only helped Epix launch multiple products such as apps on iOS, Android, Xbox and mobile web, but she’s also integral in supporting both traditional and digital partners. Among her recent accomplishments, she managed digital strategy for “NHL Road To Series” and “Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour” campaigns. “At the end of the day, I feel fulfilled by the many hours I spent my energies on rather than worn out,” she says.
What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
My dad is full of wise words, but he’s always told me “if you love what you do, it’s not work.” I’ve lived by that rule and turned my passions into a career. At the end of the day, I feel fulfilled by the many hours I spent my energies on rather than worn out.
What is one habit that makes you most successful?
I love to learn. My job is in digital and the industry is constantly evolving, which means you have to embrace the change before anyone else might, and take risks on new ways of doing things even though there’s no guarantees.
What tech item or social platform could/couldn’t you live without?
Twitter. The exchange of information and flow of ideas from all over the world is amazing to me.
Who has been your biggest mentor and why?
My boss Keary Hanan. And I’m not saying that because she’s my boss. Keary’s not only kick-ass at her job, she’s also a genuinely awesome person. She’s shown me how to be a successful woman in business but not lose sight of what’s really important in life – living it as best you can with the people you love most.
