As an expert negotiator, Guthman credits her time working as an airlines customer service rep for honing that particular skill. “Don’t eat lunch at your desk,” she recommends. “A walk can stimulate thinking and can ultimately make you more productive.” A devoted aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, Guthman continues to bolster career opportunities for women, the LGBT community and African Americans.

How do you define diversity?

Diversity is the opportunity for all to sit at the table of influence, whether it be in front of the camera, behind the camera or any position in between.

How do you define success?

One cup hard work, one cup happiness, a half cup ambition, pinch of good luck…served with lots of family support.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
