With Guthman leading the charge, BET Networks recently secured several important acquisitions, including “Martin,” “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns.” BET sister network Centric now has significant films in its repertoire, including “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “ The Help” and “Dead Presidents.” She’ll continue to complement the networks’ originals with key acquisitions moving forward. And it’s all backed by experience. Throughout her 15-year career in the television industry, Guthman has brokered more than 250 deals. Her mission: To give women and African-Americans an opportunity to see themselves in ways that television has long ignored.
