Matt Schmitt is responsible for the development and maintenance of the DOCSIS family of specifications, including DOCSIS 3.0. He has been in the cable industry since 1997, when he worked on the 3Com/U.S. Robotics telephony return cable modem. Since that time, he’s led the development effort for the DOCSIS 1.1 Acceptance Test Plans, worked on multiple DOCSIS products for several vendor companies, and was a key contributor at CableLabs to the development of the Modular Headend Architecture and DOCSIS 3.0 specifications. Schmitt has worked at CableLabs since 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in astronomy from Wesleyan University.
