Bright House remains on the cutting edge of technology, and Johnson evaluates policy implications associated with the company’s technological infrastructure, service delivery and long-term strategy.  She also works to establish and drive regulatory strategies for its video, voice and data services. As if that’s not enough, the Florida Department of Education recently elected her to chair its State Board of Education. When it comes to helping women excel in cable, she says, “Mentoring is important and helpful, but sponsorships are the key to boosting career opportunities for women at the executive level and on corporate boards.”

Mentoring is important and helpful, but sponsorships are the key to boosting career opportunities for women at the executive level and on corporate boards. The most important aspects of sponsorships include exposing sponsored women to people of influence, promoting sponsored women for advancement opportunities, and genuinely investing in their growth and development.

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

My favorite trick for unwinding is a long walk.  A nice brisk walk helps to increase oxygen supply and improve mental alertness.  I often find solutions to daily challenges during my early morning or late night strolls.  What better way to unwind than to take some of the stress off by solving a problem and increasing your fitness at the same time?
