Based in Discovery Networks Southern Europe’s headquarters in Milan, Soldi oversees management of the region’s 19 Discovery brands, reaching 232 million cumulative subscribers in nine countries and territories. As Discovery continues to push for more overseas growth, her schedule is poised to become even fuller. “People, stories and the ability to make a difference” inspire her both in and out of the office, she says.

 

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

Helping mentees see what’s possible for them – painting the bigger picture and wider timeframe. Presenting the chance to ask questions they would not necessarily feel comfortable asking others, and knowing they will get an honest and straight answer.

 

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

People, stories and the ability to make a difference. One of my favorite quotes by Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” It’s transversal in and out of the office.

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Remembering to breathe.
