She also founded a non-profit focused on bringing technology education to the economically disadvantaged—and she wants to grow the number of women and minorities in technical positions. Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance? 

There’s a growing software revolution called “reactive” development. In a reactive app you split up the work in many small chunks and run them in parallel. I run my life the same way.

How do you define a successful career?

One that when it’s all said & done I’ve made a progressive difference. Left a print. Both at work and at home.
