Talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management and wellness programs are only some of the tasks Martinez oversees at HSN in her HR role. This past year, she developed a comprehensive internal framework to define the company’s corporate culture, and she also launched a digital video interviewing tool to help expand the HSNi talent pipeline through recruitment, retention and development. Expect Martinez to keep focusing on cutting-edge recruitment techniques and talent management systems. “I find you can’t really mentor someone unless you understand the whole person,” says Martinez. “That includes families and children and parents and even simply things like understanding the length of someone’s commute and ‘non-work’ factors that make a real difference in their lives.”
