Arias spearheads Comcast’s diversity efforts, including programming, recruitment and community investment. She volunteers for nonprofit boards from NAMIC to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Arias is proud of Comcast’s “Internet Essentials” digital literacy project. “As an immigrant, I understand what it’s like to have language, social and economic barriers. The poverty rates of women, single-parent families, various ethnic groups and the lack of access to broadband scare me because we have an increasing society of ‘have’ and ‘have-nots.’ Something has to give.”
