Talreja is a 25-year industry veteran who spent the majority of her career at Cisco transforming the IT organization into an e-business leader. She believes “young women have an opportunity to use their strengths to break away” from the male-dominated IT crowd. From 2004 to 2007, she served as senior director of customer business transformation with Cisco’s voice technology group. Then she ran and launched the Virtual Computing Environment coalition, a partnership among Cisco, EMC and VMware. Under her leadership, VCE skyrocketed to $10 million in business in just four months, with a pipeline of $100 million in deals.
