Southworth, the highest-ranking legal exec for both networks, this year was again integral in negotiating agreements resulting in some of their most important initiatives. She led key renegotiations for SundanceTV and Shudder, as well as Sundance Now’s multiyear partnership deal with the Sundance Institute and the Sundance Film Festival. Southworth also stepped up AMC’s brand franchise development efforts, including negotiating and drafting “The Walking Dead’s” NextGame mobile and console game deals. A big proponent of mentoring, this summer she planned a reunion for all the legal interns she’s hired and mentored since 2009. Some of my oldest interns were in positions where they were now hiring junior attorneys, and my newest interns were particularly excited to meet them!” she says.
