Much of Charytan’s focus lately has been on easing the Time Warner Cable merger through the regulatory approval process, so naturally she considers the Comcast-TWC-Charter deal the biggest story in cable. “[A successful career] is one that ends up with you being happy to go into work, and more excited than stressed out by the challenges it presents to you,” she says.

How can cable do better job at supporting the industry’s women?

Cable has to continue to promote women to top spots — and make an affirmative, deliberate effort to move women into the “C-suite”. It’s time to shake things up a little.
