Louis Carr
Carr is a well-rounded individual, most recently penning two books—“Dirty Little Secrets” and “The Little Black Book: Daily Motivations for Business and Personal Growth.” Both offer valuable lessons he has learned in his career. In June, Carr earned the Diversity Award from the Hyatt Corporation celebrating his work around diversity from both personal and professional standpoints. In September, he was to receive another diversity award at the First Annual Legacy of a Lifetime Award Celebration. He is celebrating 30 years at BET Networks, where he continues to grow ad revenue. He’d give the industry a D when it comes to diversity. “They have improved in regards to the on-air talent but have not improved behind the camera and executive ranks,” he says.
What grade do you give the cable industry on diversity and why?
