With Janneman as head of ad sales, Ovation has grown its annual revenue by 40%, and upfront revenue has tripled. Having reached 51 million households this year, the net continues to build partnerships with national advertisers, thanks to Janneman’s leadership. She began her career as buyer of local cable in ’83, and then moved on to national cable buying. Getting in on the ground floor might very well explain her success. Advice she’s used to this day from Joe Uva, ex-Univision CEO: “He once told me never to be intimidated by anyone I meet regardless of their title. Just think of them in their PJ’s. They’re just people!”
