As cable ramps up its OTT options, execs like Pan could become increasingly integral to success. In the past year she led the launch of two new SVOD services at AMC Networks: SundanceNow Doc Club and Shudder. These OTT services offer curated video experiences for fans of the world’s best documentaries and horror-themed programming from around the globe. She’ll also focus on growing the libraries in the coming months while cooking up new SVOD services for the networks.

Best business advice you’ve received?

Aspire for great heights but be prepared for the depths. Always do your due diligence and respect your colleagues.

How do you define diversity?

Diversity is many things. It’s the diversity of experiences, viewpoints, backgrounds, and life experiences. These perspectives should be valued and respected because they ultimately enable better decision-making.

How do you define success?

Being publicly useful and privately happy.

What’s your biggest professional accomplishment in the past 12 months? 

I oversaw the launch of SundanceNow Doc Club and Shudder, two new SVOD services that are pure-play OTT services focused on providing specially curated video streaming experiences that delight the enthusiast fans of specific genre verticals. SundanceNow Doc Club is dedicated to bringing consumers the world’s best documentaries and connecting them with a passionate community that celebrates nonfiction storytelling. Members unlock access to an extensive library of award-winning films, as well as exclusive access to movie premieres, award shows, film festivals and other membership benefits. The programming on Doc Club is specially handpicked by cultural icons and notable figures to ensure a personal and differentiated experience relative to other mainstream SVOD services. Shudder is a horror-focused streaming video service that offers a library of horror films from around the world and across the decades. Curated by horror aficionados with a deep love and respect for the many peculiar varieties and genres of horror, Shudder offers something for everyone, from the casual fan to the hardcore horror devotee.
