Leonard Ray joined Cisco in 2007 as Business Development Manager in the Access Networks Business Unit, with a focus on the international fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) market. Mr. Ray is responsible for developing access-based FTTH solutions, including product development direction, industry partnerships, and strategic acquisitions.   He has significant FTTH marketplace experience including OSS/BSS operations with ETI Software Solutions as Vice President of New Business Development, infrastructure and engineering expertise with Atlantic Engineering Group as Vice President of Business Development, and Manager of Market Development for Corning Optical Fiber focusing on developing corporate strategies to enable FTTH technology deployments.  Additionally, Mr. Ray has been actively involved with the FTTH Council, including one term as President in 2005, three terms on the BOD, four years as the Chairman of the Government Relations Committee, and is the author of the FTTH Council’s call for “100 Megabit Nation.” Mr. Ray’s education includes an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  His previous work and educational experience with the United States Air Force as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer has provided valuable operational and leadership experience outside of the traditional service provider space.
