What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?

Industry consolidation and its drivers, which highlights the importance of our physical plant, technology and talented workforce in an increasingly interconnected and broadband dependent world. Best of all, it’s given me the opportunity to work more closely with many of my cable industry pals.

How do you define a successful career?

Passion and impact drive and define success in my book, measured in a myriad of ways –driving value, mitigating risk, developing the next generation of leaders…all while having fun, building relationships and collaborating as a team.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

For many of us technology has changed the ever elusive construct of balance, replacing time and location distinctions with a more interwoven mix of our work and personal lives. The best trick for managing such demands is outsourcing the more routine daily tasks that sap time and energy, enabling you to focus on what is truly important.
