Brockhage is coming off a banner year as her team demonstrated exceptional work developing the legal strategy for both linear and digital distribution for the NBCU portfolio. “I’m inspired by the great opportunities and challenges presented by the changes in the industry,” she says.  “It’s such an exciting time to be in cable.”

 

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

I’m inspired by the great opportunities and challenges presented by the changes in the industry. I’m also inspired by the incredibly talented and dynamic team that I work with that’s focused on meeting the challenges and taking advantage of every opportunity. It’s such an exciting time to be in cable. I’m inspired by my two children—it’s been fascinating to watch them grow into themselves and become kind, interesting, funny young adults that I love spending time with.  I’m so proud of them.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance? 

I don’t know if there really is a trick. The right personal-professional balance changes depending on family and professional circumstances. Sometimes the focus needs to be more on one area than the other and then switches back. The trick, I guess, is constantly adapting and hopefully having both a personal family and a work family that’s willing to accommodate.

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding? 

I live in such an urban area—just getting outside the city and walking—in the trees, by the ocean, in the mountains.
