Takano has a long history of influencing program decisions. His current gig at Fine Living comes after years of practice, including his earlier role as director of programming at HGTV and his distinction of being the first director of programming at Scripps’ New Media Division. His solid background as a consultant, producer, writer and programmer has served him well as he strikes content deals in an increasingly complicated environment. Takano spearheaded Fine Living’s acquisition of high-profile personalities like Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse, and has developed new brand partnerships. A member of the Scripps Networks Diversity Committee, Takano is a graduate of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program and has served on several NAMIC committees.
