Joseph Clayton
Title: Former President & CEO, DISH Network
Years in Cable: 42 years in electronics industry
Education: Bellarmine University; Indiana University School of Business
Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Listen to the consumer.
Clayton retired his DISH duties in March, but after four years as CEO his consumer-first approach is evident at every level, from customer service to product development. Instead of maintaining the popular and groundbreaking Hopper Whole-Home DVR platform, Clayton pushed for enhancements like Super Joey, Wireless Joey, and Virtual Joey that nearly eliminate channel conflicts when recording, streamline installation, and increase portability. Employee engagement and satisfaction have also increased during his tenure. Oh, and a little thing called Sling TV was developed under his watch.
Not a bad legacy. Not bad at all.
