Jon Dorsey

Associate Producer, American Heroes Channel

Dorsey isn’t probably someone you want to mess with: He served six years with the Air Force Security Forces, where he was promoted to the Rank of Staff Sergeant, and spent a year in Afghanistan before coming to work in production for what was then Military Channel in 2012. Among his triumphs, he managed the complete re-versioning of AHC’s record-breaking series “Apocalypse WWI,” where he created an entire new series open from scratch, giving viewers a fresh look at the content. “I love the constantly changing landscape of the industry,” he says. “With so many new platforms, and new ways to deliver content, there are many new frontiers to explore in the near future.

What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?

Who has been your biggest mentor and why?

Marissa Lucy, a Coordinating Producer here at Discovery has taught me nearly everything I know about the cable industry. She knows how to get things done the right way and I am constantly learning something new from her.

What three things can’t you live without?

My wife Alex, my dog and GPS.
